Data & Methodology
This appendix presents the raw data and methodology behind our analysis of 69 NFT marketplaces, illustrating the pricing differences among No‐Art, Any‐Art, and Fine‐Art categories, as well as curated vs. non‐curated collections.
Methodology
We collected data on:
- Avg. Price per marketplace
- Total Sales (# transactions)
- Total Traders (unique addresses)
- Total Volume in USD
Then we categorized each marketplace by:
- No Art: NFT marketplaces that don’t support Artwork NFT sales.
- Any Art: NFT marketplaces w/Artworks listed for sale among other NFT categories.
- Fine Art: NFT marketplaces focused exclusively on high‐end fine art curation.
Additionally, we distinguished Curated vs. Non‐Curated segments where possible.
Key Findings
- Fine‐Art: Average price of $3k, total volume $468M, with only 0.6% share of the overall NFT market volume but highest per‐item valuations.
- Curation Premium: Curated collections showed a ~45% higher average price (44.7% to be exact) than non‐curated sets, indicating that curated NFT experiences command greater trust and willingness to pay.

Curated vs. Non‐Curated
Conclusion
The data strongly supports the assertion that curated digital art commands a notable premium over uncurated NFTs, and that Fine‐Art‐only platforms—despite a smaller overall market share—achieve substantially higher average sale prices. These insights inform our business strategy to emphasize curation and high‐end art verticals for premium revenue potential.
